Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form the agreement between you (“you”, “the client”) and SC Black Diamond Vehicle Events LTD (Pending), trading as Black Diamond Events (“we”, “us”, “our”), of Paphos, Cyprus, for the hire of a chauffeur-driven vehicle. By submitting a booking request you accept these Terms.
1. Our service
We provide luxury chauffeur-driven vehicle hire for weddings, events, proposals, productions and special occasions. Every booking includes a professional chauffeur; we do not offer self-drive hire. Each vehicle is hired as a full-day booking, running from your chosen pickup time until midnight on the booked date. Each vehicle can be booked once per day.
2. Bookings and confirmation
- Submitting the form creates a booking request. A booking is not confirmed until we accept it and notify you.
- We may decline or cancel a request where a vehicle or chauffeur is unavailable, where details cannot be verified, or in other reasonable circumstances; in such a case any amount you have paid for that booking is refunded.
3. Prices
Prices are shown per vehicle, per day, in euro (EUR), and include the chauffeur. The price that applies to your booking is the one we confirm. We may change prices from time to time, but not for a booking we have already confirmed.
4. Payment
- Pay on Pickup is currently the available method: the full amount is payable to the chauffeur on the day of the booking. Card and bank transfer options are coming soon.
- When card payment is enabled, a 20% deposit of the total is taken at the time of booking to secure the vehicle, with the balance payable as advised (e.g. on pickup).
5. Deposit, cancellations and changes
- The 20% deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel a confirmed booking, you forfeit the 20% deposit.
- Where no deposit has yet been collected (for example a Pay-on-Pickup booking), a cancellation charge equal to 20% of the booking total applies if you cancel a confirmed booking.
- A no-show (failing to be available at the agreed pickup) is treated as a late cancellation and the cancellation charge applies.
- Date or detail changes are subject to availability and our agreement; we will try to accommodate reasonable requests.
6. Your statutory right of withdrawal
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for services connected with leisure activities that provide for a specific date or period of performance (Article 16(l)). Because our service is booked for a specific date, that statutory cooling-off right does not apply, and the cancellation terms in section 5 govern instead. This does not affect any other rights you have under applicable consumer law.
7. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate booking details, including correct pickup location, destination and contact information;
- Be ready at the agreed pickup time;
- Not exceed the vehicle’s stated passenger capacity;
- Not smoke in the vehicles, and not behave unlawfully or unsafely;
- You are responsible for loss of or damage to the vehicle caused by you or your party beyond normal use, and for your own personal belongings.
8. Conduct and chauffeur discretion
For everyone’s safety, the chauffeur may refuse to carry, or may end the journey of, any passenger behaving unlawfully, dangerously or abusively, or who is in a condition that poses a risk. In such cases no refund is due.
9. Insurance and liability
Our vehicles carry the motor insurance required by law to operate on the road. Except to the extent that a matter is covered by an insurance policy that we have arranged and that we and you have expressly agreed applies to your booking, we are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, accident, delay, missed event or other issue arising from or occurring during a booking, whether to you, your party, your guests or your belongings, to the fullest extent permitted by law. You use the service, and travel, at your own risk save as set out in this section.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus or the EU – in particular liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that may not lawfully be excluded. Where our liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, it is limited to the price paid for the booking.
10. Force majeure
We are not responsible for failure or delay in performing a booking due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, road closures, traffic, accidents, mechanical failure, illness, strikes or government restrictions. Where reasonably possible we will offer a suitable alternative or reschedule.
11. Complaints and dispute resolution
If something goes wrong, please contact us first using the details below so we can try to put it right. You may also be able to use out-of-court dispute resolution through the Consumer Protection Service of the Cyprus Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you made it. The current version is always shown on this page with its revision date.
